Spike Milligan Award: Medical schools have been invited to compete for the Spike Milligan Award, a scheme to promote communication skills among trainee doctors, particularly in mental health.
The event also recognises the late comedian's contribution to destigmatising mental illness. The topic - whether the media influence stigma, under the title Keep Taking the Tabloids - will be debated initially on November 13th, with the final at Galway Bay Hotel on March 31st next year. Jung and spirituality
Besides dealing with personal difficulties, Jungian analysis can be a quest to deal with the mysteries of human existence and consider its inherent riddles. Murray Stein, president of the International Association of Analytical Psychology, will talk about Jung and spirituality at 8 p.m. on Friday, at Milltown Park, Sandford Road, Dublin. Admission is 15. Women, power and obstetrics
Ever more Irish women would like midwife- led care for pregnancy and childbirth, yet the service is available in only a few areas.
