The Dublin branch of the Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) has agreed not to carry out a threat to withdraw its services on Monday and Tuesday.
Members voted unanimously last night at an emergency meeting to postpone the action. A statement from the group said the action had been deferred in order "to progress further meetings and negotiations with industry groups".
The IRHA president, Mr John Guilfoyle, said the association had received written assurances from representatives of the industry groups that they would "seriously examine" issues such as late payment, and "the absence of adequate facilities for hauliers in Dublin Port".
He said his members would review progress made in the negotiations on October 4th.
