England centre Will Greenwood will return to Australia over the weekend and rejoin the squad in Brisbane on Monday, coach Clive Woodward said today.
Greenwood, who scored his side's only try in their 25-6 World Cup pool C match win over South Africa in Perth last weekend, returned to England immediately after the game when his wife developed complications in her pregnancy.
Woodward said today that Caro Greenwood's condition had improved and the Harlequins centre was able to rejoin the team.
England have two injury worries ahead of their game with Samoa in Melbourne tomorrow. Flanker Richard Hill (hamstring strain) and second row Danny Grewcock (broken toe) are unlikely to play.
