Garda Darach Kennedy (38), from Knocklyon in Dublin, was based at Garda Headquarters in the Phoenix Park.

He faces two charges under the 1998 Child Trafficking and Pornography Act.

Dublin District Court heard this morning that the Book of Evidence had been served and the DPP had consented to put the case forward for trial.

In June Gda Kennedy was granted anonymity by the President of the District Court, Mr Justice Peter Smithwick. However, he lifted his order in July following an application by the media.
