Argentina have called up Biarritz centre Martin Gaitan to replace injured captain Lisandro Arbizu in their Rugby World Cup squad.

Gaitan was in France when he received the call yesterday and he is expected to join the Pumas squad on Thursday.

Arbizu misses the World Cup after damaging knee ligaments during a practice game in Tucuman last week.

Coach Marcelo Loffreda will name his new captain, expected to be scrum-half and vice-captain Agustin Pichot, tomorrow.
