DOZENS of people wept yesterday at the funeral in Derry of Ms Bernie Logue (36), a model, who fell to her death from a hotel balcony while on honeymoon in Majorca last week.
"She was a golden girl in every way. She had a golden personality a golden heart and golden looks" said Father Patrick Kane, a family friend, at a packed Requiem Mass in the Holy Family Church at Ballymagroarty in Derry.
Father O'Kane told Ms Logue's husband, Mr Pius Gray, and her sons Anthony and Adam, that Ms Logue had radiated love and kindness and he described her sons as the apples of her eye.
"She was a girl who gently and quietly eased the loneliness and pain of many simply by her love and personality. She was loved by all who knew her. The last time I saw Pius and Bernie was a few weeks ago when she showed me her ring. She should have been coming home tanned and in romantic love with Pius."
Promotion girls, all of them dressed in black, who had worked with Ms Logue formed a guard of honour at the church.
