Steed Malbranque has signed a one-year extension to his current Fulham contract in a deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2007.
Fulham have defied the critics who predicted they would be relegation strugglers this season with a flying start under rookie manager Chris Coleman.
Malbranque has been a key figure in the early-season success and the French midfielder is happy to commit his future to the club.
"I am very pleased to sign an extension to my contract with Fulham," he told the club's website www.fulhamfc.com.
"I feel very good here, and this has made me very happy. There is a very good spirit within the team and the club as a whole. This is very important for me - I want to be able to feel good about the club that I play for.
"I think the future here looks very good, and I would say that I think we will be able to bring some success here. It wasn't a very difficult decision to make. I feel good here and I am very happy - it's as simple as that.
"I hope that this will put a positive message out to the fans. I know they are behind me and I think it was important to reassure them about the future by signing."
