Irish amateur Noel Fox shot a par 73 to leave himself on three under at the halfway point of the European Tour's Qualifying School at St Cyprien in southern France.
Fox remains the best of the Irish on the day, with Michael Hoey and Damien Mooney both carding one-over rounds to leave them both on one under.
Graham Gordon continues to be the surprise package at the halfway point of tournament, with he reigning Scottish Amateur champion, who led the field after yesterday's opening round, cementing his place at the top with a one-under-par 72 for a nine-under aggregate of 137.
Gordon and joint leader Mattias Nilsson of Sweden are two shots ahead of Englishman Duncan Muscroft going into the weekend.
Former British Amateur champion Gordon Sherry could only muster a 76 and sits on the three-over 149 mark.
At Torremirona in northern Spain, Australian Daniel Gaunt harnessed the torrid conditions to good effect as he moved three strokes clear at the top of the standings.
Despite the heavy rain and fierce winds driving through from the nearby Pyrenees mountains, Gaunt battled to a fine five-under 67 - the only sub-70 round of the day at that course - for an eight-under 136. Spaniard Jesus Maria Arruti and England's Tom Whitehouse are second on 139.
Ireland's Chris Devlin carded a par 72 to leave himself at one under for the tournament.
In calmer conditions at Perelada, Sweden's Magnus Carlsson continues to set the pace after a 69 left him with an eight-under 134. England's Chris Rodgers is one of three players tied for second on 135.
Welsh Walker Cup star Stuart Manley and former European Tour player Paul Streeter are well in the thick of the qualifying scramble on 138 but David Dixon, the leading amateur in the 2001 Open Championship, tumbled down to 44th place on 142 after a 74.
Irish scores: St Cyprien - Noel Fox -3 (73), Michael Hoey -1 (74), Damian Mooney -1 (74), Ciarán McMonagle +3 (74), Stephen Browne +4 (75), Richie Coughlan +5 (76). Torre Mirona - Chris Devlin -1 (72). Peralada - David Higgins +5 (76).
