Torch's progress: The Special Olympics flame continues its journey around Ireland this morning when it leaves Belfast and travels through nine counties in the northern half of the country.
• Route 1 will take the flame to Ballymena at 10.10 a.m. and then to Magherafelt, Cookstown and Dungannon. It will stop in Omagh at 4 p.m. this evening.
• Route 2 will take the flame to Portadown at 9.59 a.m. and travel to Armagh, Monaghan, Cootehill and Clones. Its last stop will be in Cavan at 5.43 p.m.
• The third route will begin at Ballymoney at 10.52 a.m. and will include Coleraine, Limavady, Derry and Bridgend. It will arrive in Letterkenny at 4.29 p.m.
• The fourth route will take the flame to Newry at 10.52 a.m. It will move to Castleblayney, Carrickmacross and Drogheda before stopping at Dundalk at 5.18 p.m. It will pick up its journey tomorrow in Ardee at 9.52 a.m. before heading to Navan and Virginia. It will reach Longford at 3 p.m.
Route 1 continues tomorrow with a stop in Enniskillen at 10.15 a.m., followed by Blacklion, Manorhamilton and Drumshanbo. Sligo town will greet the flame at 5.03 p.m. Mohill will be the first stop on route 2 tomorrow at 10.39 a.m. The flame will travel to Carrick-on-Shannon, Boyle and Tubbercurry before reaching Sligo at 5.03 p.m.
Route 3 will arrive in Strabane/ Lifford at 10.38 a.m. tomorrow before moving to Ballybofey and Donegal. The flame will become two and Garda Sub Aqua Club divers will take one from St John's Point into Donegal Bay. It will then be carried by boat over the seven-mile journey to Mullaghmore in Sligo.
The other flame will continue its journey through Ballyshannon and both flames will be reunited in Mullaghmore. The torch will finish tomorrow's journey when it arrives in Sligo at 5.03 p.m.
