Four people have been injured in three separate overnight paramilitary style assaults in Northern Ireland.
A man and a woman were hospitalised after two masked men broke into their house at Killowen Street in east Belfast and assaulted the occupants with baseball bats at 11 p.m. yesterday.
Before leaving, the assailants threw paint bombs into the house and smashed a front window, causing extensive damage to the property.
The victims, aged 26 and 24, were taken to hospital by ambulance; their injuries are not thought to be not life threatening.
In east Belfast, a man suffered gun shot wounds to the ankles in a paramilitary style-shooting in the Short Strand area. The victim was found in the Seaford Street area shortly before 2.30 a.m.
Elsewhere, a man (30) was injured in a another paramilitary-style shooting in west Belfast at 10.15 p.m. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg in the Highfield area incident.
