The Commission for Energy Regulation is holding a forum today to hear submissions on proposed price increases sought by the ESB and Bord Gáis.
The forum is taking place at the Gresham Hotel, Dublin between 10am and 1pm, and is open to members of the public and industry figures.
The ESB is seeking a 5.8 per cent price hike for domestic customers and 3.9 per cent for small businesses. Bord Gáis is looking for a 4.2 per cent price increase on domestic supplies, and 2.8 per cent for small businesses.
Two months ago, the ESB raised prices 17.5 per cent. Bord Gáis raised its prices in September by 20 per cent.
