Sheffield United 4-3 Nottinham Forest
(Sheff Utd win 5-4 on aggregate)
Sheffield United came from two goals behind to beat Nottingham Forest 4-3 in a pulsating first division play-off semi-final tonight.
In a fast and frantic encounter, Forest went ahead in the 30th minute through David Johnson and looked set for the Millennium Stadium final against Wolves when Andrew Reid made it two 13 minutes into the second half.
But the home side replied two minutes later when Michael Brown's free kick took a deflection into the net and they were on level terms in the 68th through a skilful goal from Steve Kabba.
The two sides were level 1-1 after the first leg and went into extra time at 2-2.
Substitute Paul Peschisolido put Sheffield United ahead on 112 minutes and an own goal from Forest defender Des Walker extended their lead.
In the final moments Robert Page gave Forest some hope with an own goal at the other end but United held out for victory and hope of a place in the premier league next season.
