Severe snow storms in the eastern United States are affecting trans-Atlantic flights from Irish airports.
This morning's Aer Lingus flight from Boston was cancelled and a number of other flights from east coast airports to Dublin and Shannon have been dealyed.The storm is expected to be the biggest December storm to hit Boston in three decades, the storm has already set records in the New York area where National Weather Service meteorologists said about 20 inches of snow fell in parts of New York city.
The National Weather Service forecast the expected snowfall to hit 20 inches in Boston and more in the western part of Massachusetts, with winds gusting up to 40 miles per hour and possible coastal flooding through this afternoon.
