New Zealand Barbarians lock Troy Flavell, cited for a swinging arm tackle on England captain Richard Hill at Twickenham on Saturday, has had his disciplinary hearing postponed until early next year.
The hearing was originally scheduled for December 29th, but Rugby Football Union (RFU) judicial officer Jeff Blackett said today that more time was needed by the New Zealand Rugby Football Union (NZRFU) to assess the incident.
Hill, a member of England's World Cup-winning team, had already suffered a cut eye which required 13 stitches and was then left with a broken nose after being caught by Flavell an hour into the Twickenham match.
He watched the remaining 20 minutes from the sidelines as an England XV won 42-17.
The incident took place in front of a touch judge, but neither he nor French referee Joel Jutge took action. After watching videos of the incident, the England management made a formal complaint.
