Farmer dies after goring by bull

A Co Monaghan farmer died yesterday after being gored by a bull on his farm at Cordevlis, Castleshane, near Monaghan town.

A Co Monaghan farmer died yesterday after being gored by a bull on his farm at Cordevlis, Castleshane, near Monaghan town.

Mr Frank Hughes (69), single, who lived alone, was moving livestock from one field to another when he was attacked by the bull, which he owned. He was discovered by neighbours and taken to Monaghan General Hospital, where he died later.
