Sofia - Bulgaria's Socialist Parter leader, Mr Georgi Parvanov, said he had won yesterday's presidential election run-off round, defeating the conservative incumbent, Mr Petar Stoyanov. "I will be a president affiliations," he declared.

Mr Stoyanov conceded defeat. Official results are expected today.

Several polling agencies and a non-government organisation said partial results and exit polls gave the ex-communist Mr Parvanov (44), the edge over the 49-year-old incumbent, Mr Stoyanov. Figures varied but the trend was the same.
