The European Union issued astrongly worded warning to Iran on its nuclear programme andhuman rights today and said it would review ties with Tehranin September in the light of its behaviour.
EU foreign ministers expressed "increasing concern" aboutIran's nuclear programme and reaffirmed that closer economicrelations depended on Iran making progress in four areas ofconcern - human rights, terrorism, non-proliferation of nuclearweapons and its attitude to the Middle East peace process.
"The Council decided to review future steps of thecooperation between EU and Iran in September in view of furtherdevelopments particularly with regard to the second report ofIAEA Director General Dr ElBaradei, the IAEA evaluationsand the possible conclusions of the Board of Governors of thisAgency," they said in a statement.
