RTE presenter John Kelly presents his details.
Current job: Presenter of the Mystery Train on RTÉ Radio 1, The View on RTÉ television. His last book Sophisticated Boom Boom is published by Jonathan Cape.
What school did you attend? St Michael's Grammar School, Enniskillen
Had you any famous classmates? We were all legends in our own lunchtimes.
Hidden talents at school? I could play five- and-a-half tunes on the tin whistle. Furthermore, I could stand on my hands.
Best subject? English and Irish
Worst subject? Physics and girls.
Most inspirational teacher and why? I had a very good English teacher called Michael Lavin who introduced me to Joyce, Heaney and Shakespeare and a music teacher, Father Connolly, who was very kind to us musos.
Where did you go to college? Queen's in Belfast. Studied law. No idea why. Then the Institute of Professional Legal Studies. Ditto.
What's your best memory of school? The day I finished my last A-level and ran/flew down the avenue. Apart from that it was probably the day they introduced a floating table in the dinner hall.
What song most reminds you of your school days? Dearg Doom by Horslips and Je t'aime (moi non plus) by Serge Gainsbourg
