POSTGRADUATE students should note that February 28th is the closing date for applications for the Student Peace Research Award, which has been launched by students' unions in Northern Ireland.
The community relations research award, worth £1,000 per annum, is open to postgraduate students interested in exploring community relations issues relevant to the student environment in Northern Ireland.
"This important award will hopefully further develop the role of student organisations in combating sectarianism on campus," says Peter O'Neill, manager of the NUS/ USI Student Centre.
The award, sponsored by the Central Community Relations Unit, will be given to an applicant, selected by a panel comprising representatives from USI/NUS, Queen's University and the University of Ulster.
Application forms are available from the NUS/USI Student Centre, 29 Bedford Street, Belfast, BT2 7EJ.
