Dubllin's northside has been with another jobs blow as Eurologic today announced the closure of its Clonshaugh plant with loss of 75 jobs.

The technology firm which specialises in network storage systems, is moving its manufacturing operation to Singapore next March. It was bought by California firm Adaptec for around $30m last March.

Labour Party TD for the area, Mr Tommy Broughan described the announcement as "a further disaster for Clonshaugh following a series of closures and withdrawals in the area by other hi-tech companies".

"Once more, history is repeating itself. US firm Adaptec who recently acquired Eurologic has opted to transfer its Dublin operation to Singapore in a fashion similar to other major companies who invested in Ireland in the boom-times but who are now pulling out at an alarming rate."
