Artist Liam C. Martin, known for his drawings of Dublin scenes, has died in hospital after a short illness. He was 64. Mr Martin was a regular contributor to the Evening Herald for more than 30 years. His drawings of Dublin street scenes appeared in The Irish Times between 1960 and 1964 and in 1962 he also contributed to the Evening Mail series "This is Your City".

He published several books of his work, including Liam C. Martin's Dublin Sketch Book, The World of Brendan Behan and Ireland on $5 a Day.
