Donegal Creameries today reported a pre-tax profit €4.05 million for the six months to theend of June this year.
This represents an increase of 16.6 per cent on the €3.47 million reported for the six months of 2002.
Turnover increased by 1.8 per cent when compared to the same period last year primarily due to higher commodity prices during the period.
Operating profits increased 4.8 per cent from €2.67 million in 2002 to €2.80 million this year reflecting primarily an increased contribution to profitability from animal feeds.
Earnings per share increased by 17.4 per cent from 28.2 cents in the first six months of 2002 to 33.1 cents in 2003.
An interim dividend of 5.25 cents is to be paid, an increase of 5 per cent on last years interim dividend of 5.0 cents.
