Datalex, the Howth-based travel software company has reached an out of court settlement with US company PSA over a dispute concerning its Psazz travel portal.
As part of the settlement the parties agreed to unwind their relationship with no admission of liability. Datalex will pay Psazz approximately €435,000 as part of the settlement.
In a court filing in Californian, PSA alleged that Datalex committed fraud, engaged in unfair business practices and has broken an existing contract with PSA.
Datalex opposed the allegations which emerged following a software licensing deal signed between the two firms in 2000.
PSA's allegations were part of a counterclaim filed by the firm in October 2001 following a lawsuit initiated by Datalex in June 2001 for breach of contract.
At this time, Datalex sued PSA Inc for about $1 million in fees which it alleges were not paid following work undertaken by the Howth-based company on software products for PSA.
Mr Neil Beck, Datalex's chief executive said the settlement was less than the offer made at the outset of the dispute, two years ago, and less than the original license fee paid by Psazz. "With this action now behind us, we can continue to concentrate our energies fully on the real business matters before us," he added.
