A man is in a critical condition in hospital today after being assaulted in Dublin City centre in the early hours of this morning.
The man, who is in his thirties, is understood to have fallen off a push bike into a group of males who proceeded to attack him.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of Grafton Street some time between 1.30 a.m. and 2.30 a.m.
The man was found unconscious at the scene and removed to St James's Hospital where his condition is described as life threatening.
Gardaí at Pearse Street are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity at the time and who may be able to assist in the investigation to come forward.
