Glen Crowe has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad to face Norway in the upcoming friendly international at Lansdowne Road later this month.
The Bohemians striker has recovered from the knee injury that sidelined him for the championship run-in last seasonand caught the eye with a match winning performance for the Phibsboro club in their eircom League opener against UCD last week.
The powerfully built 25-year-old - who needed to shake off a groin strain in order to start - tore through the heart of the Students' defence to poke the only goal of the game past Pat Jennings.
Brian Kerr's striking options were dealt a massive blow last month when Birmingham's Clinton Morrison was ruled out for the remainder of the season but Kerr will be boosted by Crowe's timely return to form.
If fit, Crowe would surely have been in the reckoning for a spot in Kerr's squad for the recent Euro 2004 qualifiers in Georgia and Albania. He already has one senior cap to his name after playing 86 minutes in the friendly draw with Greece last November.
Sheffield Wednesday's lively midfielder Alan Quinn and Rotherham striker Alan Lee retain their places in the squad following late call-ups for the Georgia and Albania trip. Neither player featured in those games but both can expect a run out against the Norwegians on April 30th.
Liverpool target Steve Finnan and Leeds United duo Ian Harte and Gary Kelly return to the fold after pulling out of the last squad.
Joining Morrison on the treatment table are Millwall winger Steven Reid and Sunderland's Jason McAteer. Reid damaged medial knee ligaments against Bradford at the start of the month while McAteer picked up a hamstring injury against Fulham but he hopes to return to training next week.
Rory Delap misses out after just recently recovering from a knee injury. The versatile Southampton star was a late substitute in the Saints' FA Cup semi-final win over Watford at the weekend but that was his first action following a six week lay-off and he is lacking match fitness.
Norway have found a rich vein of form of late and sit - unbeaten - at the top of Euro 2004 qualifying group 2 containing Denmark, Romania, Bosnia and minnows Luxembourg.
