The latest issue of Crime Time is here, under new editor Barry Forshaw. Invaluable for anyone interested in the world of fictional crime, it contains the usual mixture of interviews, short stories and reviews. Those being given the third degree include Caleb Carr, Ed McBain - as always, not erring on the side of modesty - and our own Neil Jordan. The short fictions are mainly by writers unfamiliar to me, so obviously Crime Time is providing a forum for new people on the block. There is also an enjoyable rant by Mark Timlin on last April's supplement in the London Times listing their Masters of Crime - he was included, but a lot of his pals were not. Great value for the money, Crime Time has something to suit just about everyone.
