Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo faces a fitness test tonight on his injured groin to decide whether he can play against his old club Lazio in the Champions League tomorrow.

Crespo is reported to have a 60 per cent chance of making the starting line-up for the Group G fixture in Rome.

But central defender Marcel Desailly is not expected to start the match because of his back injury while Celestine Babayaro, Mario Stanic and Emmanuel Petit are ruled out and have not travelled to Italy.

Everton captain David Weir is facing a month on the sidelines after injuring his knee during Saturday's defeat to Chelsea at Goodison Park.
