The waste charges protest has spread to the South Dublin Council area, the High Court was told today when injunctions were granted against sixteen protesters who had interfered with bin collections.
Mr Jonn Doherty, counsel for the local authority, told High Court President, Mr Justice Joseph Finnegan, that waste collections had been impeded at Glenvara Park and Orlagh Park, Rathfarnham, and at Culmore Road, Palmerstown.
He said bin lorries had been blockaded in all cases until the arrival of gardaí who had noted names and addresses of those involved.
Mr Justice Finnegan dispensed with the making of interim orders and made all orders permanent until the full trial of South Dublin County Council's action against the protesters.
