The proposed closure of Teagasc's Co Clare headquarters today in Ennis was deferred in response to a District Court ruling which ordered the removal of two Traveller families at the gates of the offices.
The offices were to close in response to a public health nuisance caused by the Traveller caravans. However, the safety officer with Teagasc, Mr Frank Claffey, said yesterday the offices were to remain open, but the situation would be reviewed on an ongoing basis as the Travellers are to appeal to the Circuit Court.
