Two late tries helped Clonstarf bounce back from last weeks defeat to Belfast as they beat Galwegians 34-16 at Crowley Park this afternoon.

The homeside were in touch for most of the game but a try each from James Downey and Daire Higgins in the space of three minutes put an end to Galwegians' hopes of inflicting Clontarf's third league defeat.

Clontarf stay top, one point ahead of Ballymena who recorded a resounding victory over bottom side Terenure, as they won by 70 points to nil.

Belfast Harlequins built on their win over Clontarf, beating an under strength Cork Constitution by 27-21.
