The leaders of the four main churches came together to dedicate the refurbished chapel at Belfast City Hospital yesterday, writes Deaglan de Breadun, Northern Editor. The chapel, which can hold up to 50 people, is available to the 12 chaplains from different denominations who service the hospital.

"It's a marvellous indication of the co operation that's gone on among the chaplains of the hospital. The fact that we can come together to dedicate this chapel is another indication of how closely we work together in the ministry of healing and on the whole question of bringing healing to people," said the Church of Ireland Primate, Dr Robin Eames.

The Archbishop of Armagh, Dr Sean Brady, said the four leaders were very glad to dedicate the church "to recognise and show our appreciation of the willingness of the authorities to provide this facility here and of course to affirm the good work that is carried on by the chaplains".
