The outlook for weekend travel appears to be relatively trouble-free with no major delays reported on the roads and minimal disruption to flights.

No serious traffic delays have been reported so far this evening. However, with the Heineken Cup semi-final is taking place at Lansdowne Road on Sunday and traffic delays should be expected near the stadium.

The weekend will also see race meetings at Navan and Sligo and the Curragh on Sunday and some delays should be expected.

There will be no DART service between Howth and Howth junction on Saturday and Sunday, with a limited bus service in operation between stations. Work on the DART line between Bray and Greystones has ended ahead of schedule, and all trains are now running normally. No other delays have been reported to DART or suburban rail services.

Track works are continuing on the Limerick to Ennis line, and train services will be substituted with bus transfers between Limerick and Ennis. No other Inter-City delays have been reported.

At Dublin airport, SkyNet Flight no S1239 due in at 7.40 p.m., has been cancelled, while Tunisair Flight no TU8950 due in from Monastair at 7.55 p.m. has been cancelled and returning flight T8951 due to fly out of Dublin Airport at 8.45 p.m. to Monastair has also been cancelled. All other flights are running to schedule this afternoon.

There are no reported problems at Cork or Shannon airports.

Passengers booked on the 5.30 p.m. Johnathan Swift sailing from Dublin to Holyhead this afternoon are being asked to contact Irish Ferries on 1890 313131, as the sailing has yet to be confirmed. All other ferries are running on time.

Weatherwise, the country is set for a showery weekend. This afternoon will see rain clearing with sunshine and showers following. Saturday will be a breezy and showery day, while Sunday will see showers at first followed by more persistent rain later in the day. Temperatures over the weekend will range from 11 to 14 degrees.
