British police arrested two people today in connection with the death of 20-year-old skydiver Stephen Hilder who plunged to his death at Hibaldstow Airfield in north Lincolnshire in July.
The two, in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of murder and have been taken to separate police stations in the Humberside Police area where detectives will interview them.
Police launched a murder inquiry after the army cadet fell 13,000 feet to his death on July 4th. The found the cord on Mr Hilder's main parachute had been deliberately severed as well as the strapping on his reserve chute.
Mr Hilder plunged to the ground in seconds as horrified onlookers watched from nearby Hibaldstow Airfield in North Lincolnshire.
A veteran of more than 200 jumps, he was taking part in a competition with seven other skydivers at the National Championships of the British Collegiate Parachute Association.
