British police probing claims by a 17-year-old girl that she was gang-raped by several top soccer players have ordered four men arrested in the case to return to a police station in January, police said.
The four, aged 29, 27, 22 and 19, were arrested and released on bail earlier this month. Two of them are professional soccer players.
The teenager's allegation that she was gang-raped by up to eight top soccer players in London's luxury Grosvenor House hotel on September 27 has threatened English soccer with its worst scandal involving player behaviour off the pitch.
It is one of several recent incidents to have hit the prestigious English premier league and raised questions about the behaviour of young men who are paid huge sums and adulated like pop stars.
