British army bomb disposal experts have defused a suspect device that was left outside the left outside the west Belfast offices of Republican Sinn Féin this morning.

A lunch box, thought to contain an explosive substance with an alarm clock attached to it, was found outside the office on the Falls Road. It was bound with tape.

Traffic was diverted between Broadway and Beechmount Avenue.

The PSNI said a number of items were taken away for further examination.
