Police are trying to identify the body of a man washed up on the shore in Tel Aviv they believe may be that of Omar Khan Sharif.
Sharif, a British Muslim, is believed to be the accomplice to a suicide bomber who killed three at a Tel Aviv bar.
On April 30th, Asif Hanif (21), from the London suburb of Hounslow, set off explosives he was carrying in front of Mike's Place, a popular Tel Aviv bar that caters to foreigners and immigrants, killing himself, a waitress and two musicians.
Police said Sharif (27), of Derby, also tried to blow himself up at the scene, but his explosives belt malfunctioned and he escaped. Police have been searching for him ever since.
Israel TV's Second Channel reported that police were checking the body that appeared on the Tel Aviv shore to see if it was Sharif's. The police and military had no immediate comment
Three members of Sharif's immediate family have been arrested in Britain and are facing charges of aiding terrorism.
