A decision on Beef Or Salmon's participation in the John Durkan Memorial Chase at Punchestown on Sunday is due tomorrow.
His trainer, Michael Hourigan, is deciding between a run in the Punchestown contest or the Hilly Way Chase at Cork a week later.
The run out is in preparation for the Leopardstown Christmas meeting where a possible showdown with Best Mate awaits in the Lexus Chase.
Hourigan's star chaser has recovered from an overreach suffered when winning the James Nicholson Chase at Down Royal earlier this month.
"We are going to make a decision on Punchestown tomorrow morning," the trainer said.
"The horse is fine. He's back in work. He worked on Saturday, which was his first bit of work since he won. He worked all right and he'll do a bit again tomorrow."
Beef Or Salmon is a top-priced 10-1 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
