Barcelona have confirmed Manchester United's interest in signing defender Carles Puyol.
The Spanish side insist no official bid has been received for the player and that they are not interested in selling the 25-year-old.
However, a club spokesman said they would consider offers for any of their squad as they bid to reduce debts of around £116 million.
"There is no deal," the spokesman said. "United are interested in the player but we are not interested in selling him. However we will always listen to any offers that are made. No-one at the club wants him to go but everyone is available if the offer is good enough."
Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard was forced to put a 'hands off' notice on the Spain international amidst reports of an imminent £14 million bid from United.
A transfer was given further credence when Puyol recently revealed he would join United if it helped to clear some of the debts at Barcelona.
