A man who sexually assaulted a woman 10 years ago after telling her he wanted to be with her and dragging her down a side road has been remanded on bail pending sentence.

Cedric Parsillion (35), Drumcondra Road Lower, Dublin, originally from Bordeaux, France, was remanded in custody but released on bail last January after he pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to sexually assaulting the woman on October 6th, 2001.

Marie Torrens, defending, said her client has admitted to sexually assaulting the woman, but he still did not accept he assaulted her in the manner she described. The court heard Parsillion returned to France after the incident because his grandfather had died. He had tried to contact gardaí when he returned but when that was unsuccessful, “he just hoped it would go away”.
