Gardaí are continuing their search for two men who carried out an armed raid at a branch of Dunnes Stores in Dublin last night.
The men, who were wearing balaclavas and armed with a shotgun and a handgun, held up five members of staff at the branch in the Swan Centre in Rathmines at around 8.30pm. The store was closed at the time.
Three staff members were taken to a cash room and threatened according to a Garda spokesman.
The armed men left the premises with a substantial amount of cash after locking the three employees in the cash room. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the raid.
It is understood a third man was waiting in a dark coloured Ford Galaxy that was parked on Castlewood Avenue.
The two raiders are described as being of average build, between 5ft 10in and 6ft in height. They wore blue clothing.
Anyone with information in relation to the robbery, or the car involved in the getaway, is asked to contact the Gardaí at Rathmines, 01-6666700 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
