The Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All-Ireland, Dr Seán Brady, has condemned the recent acts of intimidation against members of District Policing Partnership Boards.

In a statement released to ireland.com, Dr Seán Brady said violence and intimidation had no place in a community which believes in freedom and human rights.

He said attacks on property and threats to people and their families are "totally indefensible and must stop immediately."

Dr Brady continued: "District Police Partnerships are a central part of building an accountable and representative police service. Those who have joined these boards out of a sense of civic duty deserve our respect and support."
