Washington - The US Secretary of State, Ms Madeleine Albright, left for Africa yesterday to visit the bombed US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania and express US grief for the victims.
At least 257 people were killed and more than 5,000 injured in simultaneous car-bomb attacks on the US embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam on August 7th. The American death toll was 12, all killed in Nairobi.
In Nairobi, Kenyan and US investigators confirmed they were questioning a suspect deported from Pakistan, but said he had denied responsibility.
