A 20-YEAR-OLD man was killed when his car hit a tree and plunged into a river.
The driver was the only person in the car when the crash happened at Cloncovet, Kilcogy, Co Cavan, at 3am. Gardaí have named him as Lucas O’Reilly of Kilcogy, Co Cavan. A Garda spokesman said it was believed the car veered off the road, hit a tree and entered a river.
“The 20-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. . . ” he said.
