Two women are among the 16 barristers appointed senior counsel by the Chief Justice, Mr Justice Hamilton

Two women are among the 16 barristers appointed senior counsel by the Chief Justice, Mr Justice Hamilton. Barristers generally practise at the Bar for an average of 15 years before becoming senior counsel. The two women senior counsel are Ms Anne Cruess Callaghan and Ms Mary Irvine.

Also appointed senior counsel were Mr John D. O'Hagan, Mr John Peart, Mr Michael M. McMahon, Mr Michael Durack, Mr Martin Giblin, Mr Padraig O'Higgins, Mr Gerard Clarke, Mr Michael Hanna, Mr Aedan McGovern, Mr James Dwyer, Mr Kieran Fleck, Mr Rory Brady, Mr David McGrath and Mr John Trainor.
