Toyota gives the Yaris line a quick nip and tuck

Toyota has given the Yaris a quick nip and tuck, though to be honest it is very hard to see the lines. Only eagle-eyed motoring fans will note the slight reshaping of the front bumper, radiator grille and headlights. In addition, newly-designed front fog lamps are also available. Michael McAleer reports.

The most significant changes are under the bonnet, where a new 1.3-litre petrol engine has been added.

There is also the addition of a semi-automatic transmission to the 1-litre model. The new gearbox features an automatic clutch with stepped gearchanges. Drivers can choose either full automatic or changes through the sequential shifter.

The latest version of the Yaris was first revealed at the Amsterdam Motor show some months back. The revamp also takes in the Yaris Verso.
