Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead
DUBLIN: traffic flow from St Stephens Green South to Cuffes Street has been restored. Traffic is now free to travel that route again. However, as part of QBN (Quality Bus Network) works a central medium is now in place on St Stephens Green South. Motorists from Leeson Street need get into lane earlier for Cuffe Street or on to St Stephens Green West. From Lesson Street you will need to keep left for Cuffe Street and move right to continue around the Green. Any queries motorists can call the LUAS freephone: 1800 67 64 64.
Change in layout from Gardiner Street and on to Beresford Place. Two lanes merge into one and angle of corner is very sharp.
KILDARE: Works and diversions at end of dual carriageway on Dublin side of Kildare town, on the Old Dublin Road: single lane traffic. Speed limit of 30 mph in place, allow extra time for journeys. The works are part of the Kildare bypass and the current layout will be in operation until approximately mid-October.
WICKLOW: Works on N81 from Blessington to Lamb Junction. The works will be in place until at least mid-October, and drivers are advised that care is needed in the area for the duration of these works.
WESTMEATH: Roadworks on the N6 half a mile west of Kinnegad, for the M4/M6 Motorway project. Flagmen in place, expect minor delays especially during rush hour.
WATERFORD: Works in Ballybricken continue. New one way system in place and delays are likely as motorists get used to this. Diversions well signposted.
LIMERICK: The N69 (Dock Road) closed temporarily between Cement Factory Roundabout Rd to Askeaton between noon and 9 p.m. each day for reconstruction works. Works on Dublin Roa d at Clare Street until Friday October 17th, between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. each day. Watch for works on the N69 at Kildimo, diversions in place.
KILKENNY: Roadworks in Mullinvat on the N9, expect minor delays. Traffic lights in place.
TIPPERARY: Works on N7 between Gooig (county boundary) and Birdhill. Delays expected.
OFFALY: Sewer laying on N62 in Ferbane, long delays expected until the end of November. Traffic using the N62 northbound or southbound should divert at Ballinahown and Cloghan.
CAVAN: Temporary traffic lights, six miles outside Cavan town on the Dublin Road - works causing problems during rush hour especially. Temporary traffic lights at Virginia on N3, diversions south of Virginia. Delays at peak times.
LONGFORD: Major roadworks at junction of N4/N55 in Edgeworthstown. Allow extra time for your journey. They will continue for approximately two months.
