Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead
DUBLIN: In Dublin, LUAS works continue at St Stephen's Green South/Cuffe St until October 12th. Delays are easing as motorists become accustomed to the temporary layout. Watch out for a changed layout coming from Gardiner St going onto Beresford Place. Two lanes now merge into one and the corner angle is very sharp.
The Mullinastill/Falls Roads, due to re-open in the next seven days, are currently closed for realignment works. Local access will be maintained at all times. Alternative route is via Stonebridge Road, Dublin Road and the N11. As a result of this arrangement and the current closure of Bridesglen Road, Cherrywood Road will be a cul-de-sac for the duration of these works.
KILKENNY: Works in Mullinvat village on the N9 are causing minor delays. Works are due to continue until October 24th. Lights in place continuously for the duration of the works.
LIMERICK: Works on Dublin Rd at Clare St until Friday, October 17th. Delays will be kept at a minimum. Works are from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. each day. Watch out for works on N69 at Kildimo. Delays likely. Works on N7 Dublin Road on the Dublin side of Limerick City at Finnegan's Pub - in place until tomorrow.
GALWAY: Works due to finish on Friday on N65 between Killimor and Gortnamaddy.
TIPPERARY: Works underway on N7 between Gooig (county boundary) and Birdhill; control measures in place; delays expected; works in place until the start of November.
OFFALY: Sewer laying works on N62 at Ferbane; long delays until end of November; northbound or southbound traffic should divert at Ballinahown and Cloghan.
KILDARE: Bypass works and diversions at end of dual carriageway on Dublin side of Kildare town, on the Old Dublin Rd; traffic down to single lane; reduced speed limit of 30mph; expect delays; current layout in place until about mid-October.
WESTMEATH: Works in place on N6 half a mile west of Kinnegad on M4/M6 motorway project; flagmen in place until about December; minor delays especially during rush hour.
WICKLOW: Works in place on N81 from Blessington to Lamb Junction until at least mid-October.
CAVAN: Temporary lights six miles outside Cavan town on Dublin Rd; works causing delays during rush hour.
WATERFORD: Works in Ballybricken until at least mid-October; new one-way system in place; diversions well signposted.
Works and temporary lights on main N25 between Moolamean and Keily's Cross, seven miles west of Dungarvan; works in place until about next Wednesday.
LONGFORD: Major works at junction of N4/N55 in Edgeworthstown; delays in town especially at peak times; works continue for about two months.
