Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Luas works will restrict St Stephen's Green South to Cuffe Street. Traffic from Leeson Street diverts via Hatch Street and Harcourt Street; from Baggot Street diverts via Earlsfort Terrace, Hatch Street Upper and Harcourt Street.
Mullinastill and Falls Roads did not re-open , remaining closed for a further two weeks, for realignment works. Local access will be maintained. The alternative route is via Stonebridge Road, Dublin Road and the N11. As a result of this and the current closure of Bridesglen Road, Cherrywood Road will be a cul-de-sac for the duration of these works.
KILDARE: Works at end of the dual carriageway on Dublin side of Kildare town, on Old Dublin Road. Traffic single lane. Speed limit of 30 mph. Works are part of the Kildare bypass.
WICKLOW: Works on N81 from Blessington to Lamb Junction. Drivers advised that care is needed.
WESTMEATH: Works on N6 half a mile west of Kinnegad, for work on M4/M6 Motorway. Flagmen will be in place until approximately December and motorists can expect minor delays .
GALWAY: Ballymoneen Rd Upper in Knocknacarra near the Barna Woods closed to traffic until the end of September. Diversions are in place, but local access will be maintained.
Also in Galway, roadworks are in place until the first week of October, on the N65 between Gortymadden and Killimor.
LIMERICK: Roadworks are in place on the Dublin Road at Clare Street. It is hoped that delays will be kept at a minimum. Works between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. each day.
TIPPERARY: works on N7 between Gooig (county boundary) and Birdhill. Traffic control measures will be in place and delays are to be expected for the duration of the works. The works will remain in place until the start of November.
OFFALY: Sewer laying on the N62 in Ferbane, delays expected. Traffic using N62 north or south should divert at Ballinahown and Cloghan.
WATERFORD: Works on Old Kilmeaden Road until further notice. Expect some minor delays at peak times. One-way system at The Causeway, Abbeyside in Dungarvan. Traffic only to travel along The Causeway towards Abbeyside from Devonshire Bridge. Roadworks and temporary lights on N25 between Moolamean and Keily's Cross, seven miles west of Dungarvan.
CAVAN: Temporary traffic lights, six miles outside Cavan town on the Dublin Road. Works causing problems during rush hour.
WEXFORD: Roadworks on N11, south of Ferns until the end of September, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; lights in operation, no diversions, but allow a extra time.
LONGFORD: Works at junction of N4/N55 in Edgeworthstown. Allow extra time as they cause delays in the town at peak times.
