Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead

DUBLIN: Armagh take on Donegal in the second of the Bank of Ireland Senior Football Championship semi-finals at Croke Park on Sunday, August 31st at 3.30 p.m. Huge crowds are expected and, as with all big matches, restrictions will apply around Croke Park. Expect delays on the main N1, N2 and N3.

Christy Moore and The Frames will be headlining the main stage of Lisdoonvarna '03 at the RDS on Saturday, August 30th. Delays expected, especially on Nassau Street, Mount Street, Northumberland Road and Merrion Road.

The Ballybrack Road in Glencullen is temporarily closed for drainage and resurfacing works. Local access will be maintained. Alternative route via Tibraden Road/College Road/ Harolds Grange Road/ Blackglen Road/ Enniskerry Road and vice versa.

CORK: Restrictions in place on Washington Street, for drainage works. Washington Street one lane from Singers Corner to junction South Main Street. Washington Street closed to traffic travelling towards Grand Parade at junction with South Main Street. Washington Street traffic towards Grand Parade diverted down South Main Street to Tuckey Street and onto Grand Parade.

Watercourse Road closed from Maddens Buildings to Berwick Lane, for new culvert. Traffic diverted via new Blackpool Bypass Road. Thomas Davis Street will be a single line traffic system for access to Blackpool only for these works.

MEATH: Construction work on the Ballybin Road (the road between Ratoath and Ashbourne). Road closed to traffic from Ratoath side, so expect delays.

OFFALY: On N62 in Ferbane, delays are expected from September 1st for sewer laying. Traffic using N62 north or south should divert at Ballinahown and Cloghan respectively.

KILDARE: Celbridge Road towards Clane reduced to one lane. Temporary traffic lights 24 hours a day. Roadworks from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

CARLOW: Roadworks at junction of N9/Hanover Junction, Barrack Street/Kennedy Avenue until September.

GALWAY: Parkmore Road remains closed at N17 (Tuam Road). Traffic cannot get through from the Monivea Road to the Tuam Road. Expect delays.

WESTMEATH: Roadworks on Longford Road in Mullingar. Temporary traffic lights Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Delays likely. Works ongoing on Mullingar bypass with lane closure westbound Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

WATERFORD: Roadworks continue on Paddy Browns Road (near the IDA entrance) at Cork Road, traffic one lane on Paddy Browns Rd. Traffic control system in operation.

LAOIS: Temporary lights on the Ridge Road, in Portlaoise, daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

WEXFORD: Drainage works on the N11 at Clough, south of Gorey.
