Routes to avoid during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Roadworks Nangor Rd, 500 metres on the Clondalkin side of Pollyhops Pub, expect delays from Lucan and Newcastle. Temporary lights in operation. Work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Cycle races in Phoenix Park, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., Tuesdays over the summer: June 10th, July 1st, July 15th, July 22nd and August 19th. The following roads will be closed: Main Rd (between Phoenix Junction and Mountjoy Cross), and Survey Rd (between its junction with the Main Rd and junction with the Furze, Upper Glen and Knockmaroon roads). Traffic diverted or halted at: Phoenix Junction, Mountjoy Junction and the junction of Survey Rd, Upper Glen Rd, Furze Rd and Knockmaroon Rd.
Roadworks on Feltrim Rd in Swords between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday. One lane traffic from Kinsealy Court Estate to Kettles Lane. Expect delays.
Queen St traffic is one lane at Benburb St. Avoid the area. Work on roundabout at Hollystown Cross continues. Expect delays, especially from Ratoath through Kilbride into Blanchardstown Rd North. Roadworks and temporary lights on the Rathnew to Wicklow Rd (off the N11), delays during peak times.
GALWAY: Roadworks in Boula, Portumna between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Delays expected.
CORK: No left turn from Parliament Bridge onto South Mall/Grand Parade in Cork city. Westbound traffic to use Sullivan's Quay. Diversion on Thomas Davis St in Blackpool for roadworks. Thomas Davis St outbound closed to traffic (at the old fire station). Southbound traffic in Blackpool turn right at the old fire station, and onto the North Ring Rd overpass.
KILDARE: Roadworks on Clane Rd in Celbridge, temporary lights from 7.30 a.m. until 6 p.m.
CARLOW: Roadworks until Sept 2003 at junction of N9/Hanover Junction, Barrack St/Kennedy Ave. Roadworks at Paupish Lane and Angler's Walk junction and alongside New Oak Estate to Staplestown Rd. There may be delays for local traffic.
OFFALY: The National Country Fair from Saturday, May 31st to Sunday, June 1st and at Birr Castle Demesne. Expect delays in the area.
MEATH: Potholes in Ashbourne on the N2. Heading north at the Ashbourne shopping centre and south at the Deerpark junction. Care is needed.
WATERFORD: Delays on the N25 between Carrolls Cross and Haughtons Cross for resurfacing.
WESTMEATH: Roadworks are back on the N80 Clara Rd outside Moate, temporary lights are in place. Expect minor delays until further notice.
